This is the first of two videos in the video walkthrough / playthrough / runthrough / etc of the SNES RPG Slayers. This game was translated by Matthew La France over at Matt's Messy Room and the people over at Dynamic Designs. Kudos to you guys, and thanks a lot for all your hard work!

First and foremost, I need to say that I did this whole game in one sitting due to a problem with the save files. With the emulator I was using, if you save the game, and then go back to it later (So when I usually end a video and then start the second by loading up the file), the game becomes all screwy. So what I had to do was go through the game (thankfully I have played through this quite a few times and I had some notes to help) and after I was done, split the video into two.

This first video goes from the start of the game to a little bit after the boss fight where you have Black Fox on your team (I suppose I won't spoil who you fight for those who never played).

While I do sort of zip through the game (so I was a bit under leveled during some parts), I suggest if you want the full experience when you play, take the time to talk to the townspeople and hear what they have to say. Speaking of being under leveled, some bosses take a little bit longer than they should I think. Also, some of them shrug off magic spells, so I had to just keep pounding them with physical attacks.

And yes, I know I slept at an inn or two before a story event happened where I pretty much get rested up anyways. I also suppose I could have not bothered buying a bunch of items in the beginning since I never really used many items besides magic stones. But I suppose it never hurts to be prepared, especially if you don't plan on grinding or whatever. I also guess I shouldn't have sold that one piece of armor which Lemmy could have used. But everything still went fairly smoothly....

Speaking of grinding, I didn't use any spider webs during some parts (I chose to just walk to the exit) so I could get a level or two. While perhaps that could be seen as grinding, at least I didn't just walk back and forth trying to gain a bunch of levels. Thankfully all the bosses weren't too hard if you're able to just widdle away at them.

While perhaps not really needed, I kept going to those thieves guilds because 50 gold per fight isn't all that bad, as it can add up in the long run.
