This video shows the tidal bore progressing up the Qiantang River. A tidal bore is a true tidal wave, a wall of water produced when high tide comes into an estuary which has a favorable shape. There are about 100 tidal bores around the world, but this one near Yanguan in China is the world's largest. My wife Elaine Chun produced this video from the footage I shot. The cute blue character at the beginning is Haibao (Sea Baby), the mascot for Expo 2010 in Shanghai.
