A quick tutorial on using a Roulette to create further tone on an aquatint plate. This is a great way to increase or create tones when a difference in mark or texture is desired. Plate work created with tools like the Roulette physically alter the surface in a manner similar to dry point. Therefore it will appear slightly fuzzy and also it might require reapplication if printing a number of prints since the dots created will wear down. It is very helpful as noted to ink the plate up fully as you work and reinking as you go along.
