For every gram of coffee, add 16 grams of water. Opinions vary on how coarse to grind the beans. Find the level that works for you.

0:16 What you need: Chemex, filters, beans, hot water.
0:30 Step 1: Place a rinsed filter in the Chemex.
0:44 Fill filter with ground, fresh coffee. Make a whole in the center.
1:02 Pour hot water, around 200 degrees, into center of coffee to let it bloom for 30 seconds.
1:30 Pour hot water in a ring, starting from the outside.
1:56 Create an island of dry coffee grounds in the center. Save that for last.
