Winners of the Best Solution to a Workplace Health and Safety Issue category in the 2011 WorkSafe Victoria Awards. CJM Attachments in Swan Hill developed an innovative way of reducing the risk of musculoskeletal injuries to the rangers at Swan Hill Rural City Council. The K-9 KUBE is a hydraulic lifting device which enables rangers to safely contain and load agitated animals at ground level before hydraulically lifting them onto the transport vehicle. The K-9 KUBE has eliminated the need for local laws officers to lift animals being impounded or returned to their owner into and out of the council utilities or tray trucks. The risks are similar for all councils and animal welfare organisations who could benefit from this solution.
