"I just started doing some things differently to target the foot, I mean the leg problem...It caught us off guard, you know. All of a sudden, you know, the Arce [fight] was over in one round and, you know, we expected that to go a little bit longer and then we just fell behind," stated strength & conditioning coach Alex Ariza, who clarified that because they were caught off guard by the quick ending of Jorge Arce's fight, they still needed to get Pacquiao warmed up on a treadmill located in another room prior to the fight.
