It has been said in Scotland that wild salmon are all but a thing of the past. This has most been heard said by those in the salmon farming business, perhaps because salmon farming is in direct conflict to protecting wild fish stocks.
Derek Dowsen on the Isle of Skye tells a different story. He has taken up keeping the diversity of wild stocks going in his hatchery, and speaks here to the problems of sea lice eating away the wild fish.
