UVIC -- One month after two University of Victoria students were arrested for stealing potato chips, the story has resurfaced.

The duo called "The BBQ Chip Bandits" were walking home from the bar in early June when they decided to steal potato chips from an open garage in Saanich.

The video was posted online after it aired on June 12th, but now views are pouring in.

In less than a day 100 thousand people have watched the original story.

News outlets including CNN and Sports Illustrated have posted links to the video online and Anderson Cooper 360 also aired parts of the story on the show's "Ridiculist" segment.

Despite the attention, the homeowner and the bandits have chosen to remain anonymous.

The charges against the female students were dropped after the two wrote apology letters to the victim.
