"Coping With Drought" (2011) is about resilience. For the people of the Pokot and Turkana regions in Kenya, combating drought is a continual way of life. In these arid and semi-arid lands, most people depend on livestock for their livelihoods. When they loose their livestock due to diseases, drought or conflict, their lives are at risk.

VSF Belgium (as part of a consortium of several NGOs) aims to build the resilience of these pastoral communities through livestock improvement, water supply and conflict management.

The film talks about the Disaster Management Initiative, a development programme executed from 2008 untill 2011 by VSF Belgium, VSF Germany, Oxfam Great Britain, Acted and Practical Action, with funds of the European Commission.
