Air-to-air video of a Fokker Dr.1 Triplane in the dazzling colours of Ltn Hans Kirschstein in April 1918. After his death in a flying accident in July 1918, this aircraft was then flown by Ernst Udet, Germanys second highest scoring ace of the First World War after Manfred von Richthofen.

This footage was actually shot over New Zealand's Cook Strait and the Marlborough Sounds - the body of water between the North Island and the South Island.
