If you ever heard of this 1999 level, it's for one reason, and one reason only: There's a bug that lets you beat the level in less than 10 seconds. The toxic pool after the first teleporter is given sector effect 11, the same one used for the ending of Knee-Deep in the Dead, so if you jump into the pool with 11% health or less, you automatically win.

It's a real shame, too, because the concept of this level is interesting. After you get out of that room, you'll be faced with nine floors (plus the "basement" floor you start on) that you must access to complete the level, by way of buttons that cause a large platform to rise up or down. It's basically a variant of "The Express Elevator to Hell" (one of the Master Levels for Doom II,) but with a platform you sequentially raise instead of a simple elevator. While there are a lot of switches to raise the platform, however, there's only one for lowering it, on the eponymous ninth floor. Thus, if you make a mistake, you'll have to rise the platform all the way up, then throw that switch and wait for it to (slowly) descend before you can set it up again. And you'll have to do this three times, because the floors with the keys and their locks are not in sequential order. Mess up a little too much, and you'll have a lot of waiting to do!

There are also some bugs to keep in mind while playing this. When you get out of the pit and make it to the button after teleporting down for the first time, make sure the elevator you lowered to exit isn't moving when you press it, or else the platform will only rise to the height the elevator is at when you do so, potentially leaving the opening to the switch too small for you to reach. Also, if you forget to throw the platform-lowering switch at the ninth floor before teleporting away, you'll be stuck in the toxic pool with no way to get out, so you'll have to either kill yourself or use the glitch to end the level. Finally, the yellow key is accessed by throwing two "raise by 512 map units" switches, and if you happen to fall into the pit with the key before doing so, you will be unable to escape.

Apart from these quirks, though, it's really not that difficult. You have more than enough ammo and space to destroy the opposition, especially near the end, so UV max is simple. My previous exit for UV max was 10:03.
