Hello World! This video walks you around my Advanced Diploma of Creativity exhibition, held at The Learning Connexion campus, in Taita Wellington, New Zealand, from June 27-30th, 2019.
I've always loved collage, using colours & textures from magazines, to create patterns & abstract imagery. By taking the advanced course at The Learning Connexion, I spent a whole year exploring & building a closer relationship with paper (my material) & process (how I work with it), extending my original 2D collage cut & paste process, into 3D, via the additional process of folding. I also explored using the whole magazine itself as the material, with surprising results!
From here I am keen to build much larger folded papers, that can become walls, & install them into large spaces, perhaps using them as exterior walls for some kind of shelter! I am also returning to collage / pattern work on a larger scale, using the printed photo as my material, so these can also become walls. I'll be documenting progress on my blog, Hello World, so do follow along here - https://www.vickywalford.kiwi.nz/blog/ - if you are interested to see what I am up to!
