Join Johnny Cole as he provides LGBTQ parents an opportunity to consider issues of race, racial identity development, racism, stereotypes, and prejudices, as related to cross-racial adoptive families.

Johnny Cole has been an educator for more than a dozen years.  He currently works as a high school English teacher at Concord-Carlisle High School in Concord, MA, where he also lives openly in his community as part of a transracial adoptive family: his White husband, their Black daughter, and their Latino son.  Throughout the year, he teaches graduate level anti-racist pedagogy courses with Initiatives for Developing Equity and Achievement for Students (IDEAS), formerly Empowering Multicultural Initiatives.  Johnny earned a BS in Communication from Boston University and an MAT in Secondary English from the State University of New York at Cortland.
