Found alone and emaciated within the Chyulu Hills region, this young and little baby was just five months old and had clearly been without her mother for several days. We immediately mobilised to rescue her and offered this exhausted calf specialist formula milk, rehydration fluids and put on a life-saving IV drip for her flight to Nairobi.
We still don't know the reason why she was abandoned but she has settled well into our Nursery and her body condition has quickly improved. We have named her Esampu, meaning ‘light and shade’ in the Maa language.
Foster Esampu today and follow her journey back to a life in the wild at: www.thedswt.org/esampu
