Student Cara Myhre came to The Evergreen State College after a 10 year career in the Army. She is interested in becoming an art therapist, and towards that end she enrolled in the program Narrative Objects. The class, taught by faculty Jean Mandeberg and Steven Hendricks, incorporates fine metal and book arts and examines ways in which objects can participate in, contain, and create narratives. In this video, Myhre talks about the miniatures project assigned in winter quarter and how it inspired her to reflect on the time she served in the active war zone of Iraq in the early 2000s.
