Naomi Natale speaks at San Francisco Freedom Forum 2012
One Million Bones

Visual artist Naomi Natale talks about her current project, One Million Bones, which will collect 1,000,000 handmade bones created by individuals all over the world and install them on the National Mall in Washington, D.C, in 2013, to bring attention to the victims of genocide. Natale discusses her work at the intersection of art and activism and explains how the experience of making a bone connects people in a very real, personal way to the difficult and complex issue of genocide. As she explains, the action of creating a bone is the first step that brings a new activist to the cause and inspires hope.
