My Mom bought this iPad 1 new from Apple 1 1/2 years ago. She tried to go to the Apple store 2 times because it kept doing the Phantom typing randomly but she could not reproduce it in front of the genius bar folks so they turned her down and told her no one else had this problem. I just took a video of it and went with her to try and get it fixed and they turned us down this time because the warranty was up. I am really disappointed that Apple treated her like this instead of correcting the issue when it was first reported. My trust in this company has been lost today.
