NASA Ames 2016 Summer Series. Innovation is the ability to create a new idea, device or method from what already exists. When the Kepler mission ended, the team took the satellite that was considered to be useless and created a new innovative approach and platform to investigate a wide array of astronomy subfields called the K2 mission.

The NASA Ames Kepler mission revolutionized the way we see our place in the universe by demonstrating that planets are a common occurrence. Dr. Thomas Barclay presents the K2 mission and the microlensing experiment.
