Smart Vision takes Augmented Reality in project glass making it more interactive using dual kinect based hand tracking. It also takes the concepts of touch and multi touch interactions we are used to on tablets and smart phones into the 3D world.
Augmented Reality content becomes interactive in a native application way. We start by using a hand pinch to trigger a 3D interaction with menu. Then move into using multi hand gestures such as pinching with both hands and then pulling apart to perform a zoom on the augmented globe. Moving hands around the globe allows you to rotate the world. This is the first time that this interaction in 3D has been delivered through smart glasses.
Finally we show the precision of interaction with the scrolling of the list. The scrolling reaction in 3D is instantaneous allowing a smooth experience in the stereoscopic displays in the glasses.
The equipment used in this video are 2 x Microsoft Kinects, one HD Camera and Vuzix Star 1200 with HD attachments.
The augmented reality tracks the Korn Flakes box and overlays the data which is pulled from SAP HANA using SAP NetWeaver Cloud so we can interact with over 1.2 billion rows in the database.
