In August 2012, with Tia Sharp still missing, Stuart Hazell told ITV News that he had no involvement in her disappearance. He has now pleaded guilty to the schoolgirl's murder.
Hazell, 37, had denied killing the schoolgirl and hiding her body in the loft of the house he shared with his former partner, Christine Bicknell -- Tia's grandmother.
But on the fifth day of his trial at the Old Bailey, he dramatically changed his plea and admitted her murder.
This television interview, in which Hazell angrily refuted allegations that he had anything to do with Tia's disappearance, was broadcast in August 2012 as police and volunteers searched for the missing schoolgirl.
Shown to the jury during his trial for her murder, the interview includes Hazell describing the situation as "horrible" and that the family was "stuck inside with the papers outside accusing him".
