SOCA Digital Media Video - by Emily Clarke. These short video art pieces were filmed and edited by 3rd Year Media Design students studying the Bachelor of New Media Arts degree at the School of Creative Arts.
The brief for this piece of assessment was to create a 60-90 second non-narrative sequence of video. There was no particular theme but students were encouraged to explore notions of non-linearity, visual abstraction, transparent layering and screen spatiality as it pertains to the experimental time based media form.
Students are currently deep in the production phase of their major project which is a more traditional based narrative work executed by small creative teams to a length of 4-8 minutes.
