CLASSICA JAPAN TV 'Yuko Kawai talks about Chopin National Edition' - Vol.12b "Chopin's variants"
played/showed: Nocturne No.18 in E major Op.62 No.2 (fragment)
Yuko addressing to TV viewers: "Chopin's early work - light, ornamental like a jewel (Nocturne in E-flat major Op.9 No.2). His late work - the variant emphasises Chopin's deep feelings (Nocturne in E major Op.62 No.2). It seems Chopin's attitude towards the variants had been changing. In his late works, they are very telling, earnest, more 'essential'. For us - moving, even painful."
Yuko expresses her greatest and deepest respect for the work by prof.Jan Ekier and prof.Paweł Kamiński.
This TV programme won prestigious JSBA (Japan Satellite Broadcasting Association) Original Programming Awards.
Special thanks: really special, great and hugely talented CLASSICA JAPAN team - Ishikawa-san, Miki-san, Takahashi-san, Haraguchi-san and so on.
