Here's a classic film from the early 1950's about the Third Avenue El - demolished in 1955. "If Time Could Talk" reflects on the last days of the 3rd Ave. elevated trains in Manhattan, New York City, when the subways - the IND, the IRT, and the BMT - were siphoning patrons from above ground to below ground. Check out those circa 1870 Victorian station houses!
