Jules serves as Director and Co-chair of the Future of Privacy Forum, a Washington, D.C.-based think tank that seeks to advance responsible data practices. FPF's current projects to advance transparency and control in a business-practical manner focus on online data use, smart grid, mobile data, apps and social media.

As AOL's former Chief Privacy Officer and SVP for Consumer Advocacy, Jules was responsible for ensuring that AOL's users could trust the company with their information and for educating employees about best practices for advertising, content, and product development.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
