On December 4th and 5th, 2014 - The USC Center on Philanthropy and Public Policy and the USC Sol Price Center for Social Innovation - held a joint conference entitled Prioritizing Place: A National Forum on Place-Based Initiatives.

This conference was the culmination of a year-long inquiry into the state of philanthropic initiatives and public sector efforts to address geographically-concentrated poverty.

Henry Cisneros, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, CityView, and former U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, will put this convening in historical context, reflecting on the evolution of the field and the future of place-based initiatives in philanthropy and public policy.
