AMSTERDAM -- A local radio legend signed off the air for the very last time on Friday.

Bob Cudmore ended five decades as a local voice of the Capital Region with his last appearance on WVTL AM FM Radio. 'Coffee with Cudmore' had been a regular part of the Amsterdam airwaves for the past 10 years. Before that, Cudmore was a longtime host at WGY Radio host in Albany.

During his years in the business, Bob had become famous for that coffee cup, stained from use over the years. "It's one of the big jokes on the show. People give me a new coffee mug, I let it go to pot," says Cudmore.

Cudmore began his long career in radio as a junior at Amsterdam High. He will continue writing a weekly history column for the Daily Gazettte, as well as putting together a history podcast.
