One Minute Bunkai: This classic technique employs a simultaneous block/attack combination striking the opponent to neck, temple or face. By itself it will finish the attacker and no follow up is required. The drop down movement employs a wrist/elbow lock which will snap the elbow very easily thus further putting the opponent out of commision. This example does not follow the kata exactly but it follows the spirit of the movement in that you are using a low and wide stance similar to many throws in Judo. By reaching deep into the attacker's foundation the sudden shift in your stance will bump him off balance violently, think of it like the catapult on an aircraft carrier, the ensuing fall is very hard and nasty. This bump is used in Taichi all the time, it is part of Karate always has been.
