Gathering Peascods is a dance 'for as many as can make a circle' (ideally 3-5 pairs). First published by Cecil Sharp in 1911, the dance was already one of the oldest in the English Dancing Master when it was published in 1651. 'Peascods' were pea pods - there was an early tradition of predicting love affairs using pea pods. You can watch a teaching video of the dance here, and download all of the resources that you need to learn it yourselves at www.folkinmotion.co.uk
