Revelation 4, from Paul Wittenberger and Pastor Steven L. Anderson of Faithful Word Baptist Church, continues the 22-sermon series on The Book of Revelation. "This series debunks, once and for all, the pre-tribulation rapture," Wittenberger says. With a lot of hokey explanations from those who teach the pre-trib rapture, a solid understanding of the imagery and clear verses alike needs to be had. Anderson summarizes the sermon with a simple answer to the pre-tribber's call, to paraphrase, We're not the ones spiritualizing everything. We [post-tribbers] simply read the text how it's written; they [pre-tribbers] symbolize and spiritualize everything. Here's a rundown of the sermon:
-The sermon explains how John, being in the Spirit (v. 2), is not representative of the rapture, but rather walks through chapters 7 and 14 of Revelation, where the rapture is actually depicted.
-Pastor Anderson explains who the 24 elders might be by defining the term "elders" (Revelation 4:4)
-Some time is spent on explaining who/what the four beasts are ( Revelation 4:6-8; c.f. Ezekiel 1; Ezekiel 10)
