It's been seven days since a seven month old Weaverville child died. They won't tell us it was an accidental death, says George Bolin, a grieving step grandfather. Authorities can't say the baby's passing was accidental yet. Documents provide the summary of tragedy on New Covenant Drive in Weaverville.Nobody did no wrong here! says Bolin. But according to a search warrant executed, the EOC saw signs of substantial trauma to the head and lower body. Authorities seized everything from cell phones to toys from the home.Bolin says he and his wife were babysitting for three grandkids when the tragedy unfolded. Little bit, as they called her, had been napping for hours when they found her unresponsive. The baby was later pronounced dead at Mission Hospital.I carried her out the front door and the old lady and my daughter tried to give her CPR, Bolin recalls.Bolin says the mother was not home when at the time the child was rushed to the hospital. He says there's no way the mom was abusive. No it was not, my right hand to the good Lord's bible, Bolin tells us. He says the grief is hard to describe.Oh God, I can't explain it, it's took a toll on me.
