The many contributions of College of Idaho students, faculty and alumni to the state of Idaho were celebrated across Idaho and inside the State Capitol in Boise on Feb. 22, 2011, which was officially recognized as "College of Idaho Day." The daylong celebration included a proclamation by Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter, a 1967 C of I graduate and one of three alumni to serve as governor of the state, about the College's contributions to Idaho. The day also featured a variety of exhibits in the Capitol Rotunda, including the C of I student food bank's work feeding needy families and student research on the impact of largemouth bass on native fishes in the lower Boise River and other issues affecting Idaho's citizens and businesses.
