Welcome to episode 23 of Cowabunga Corner Season 3. In this episode I share a time when a group of Ninja Turtle fans got to visit Mirage Studios. They were in town for the Words & Pictures Museum and got invited to see the studio.
Mirage Studios was founded by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird and made it's mark on the map when they released the first Ninja Turtle comic in 1984. At that time there was no studio, though with the success of the Turtles, the studio became real. The first location was flooded out, so this is not the only building that has been Mirage. Though this building has been Mirage Studios for many years.
I will not give out the location of this building. It is a private work place, so I do not recommend people just showing up for tours as they do not normally have tours. The only reason this group of fans was there that day was because they were invited before going. At this time Mirage is no longer as we saw here, as the new home of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is Nickelodeon. So most of the Turtle stuff has been sent to them.
I would not say this video was during a busy time of Ninja Turtles since in 1999 the only new thing we had coming out was Image TMNT Comics. Though I will say that this was a time when the people who helped make the Turtles what we know them for now, were still working at the studio.
I would like to send a big Thank you to everyone at Mirage for the awesome years of TMNT that you gave us! You will always have my respect.
