Members of the Longwood Symphony Orchestra provided impromptu music therapy in the lobby of the Yawkey Center for Cancer Care at Dana-Farber recently. The musicians, who work in healthcare and biotechnology institutions in Boston, played Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 for surprised patients and staff.

"Music connects people to their sense of creativity and in a way cancer can't touch that," said Brian S. Jantz, MT-BC, a music therapist at the Zakim Center for Integrative Therapies at Dana-Farber.
