Butterfly Effects by American composer Elizabeth Vercoe was written for The Duo "2" (Peter H. Bloom, multiple flutes and Mary Jane Rupert, harp) and received its world premiere during their 2009 tour of Thailand. Banded Blue Pierrot is one of seven brief movements, each inspired by a butterfly. Bloom and Rupert have performed Vercoe's music in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and across the United States. They can be heard on the Navona CD Kleemation and Other Works by Elizabeth Vercoe (“outstanding in every respect, an artistic masterwork” – Dr. Laura G. Kafka, IAWM Journal). Vercoe has been called "one of the most inventive composers working in America today." The Washington Post.
