Mack Wilds' new album takes listeners on a sexy AfterHours trip, which features tales of lust and heartbreak.
Mack Wilds hits on two fronts. As an actor, he’s clocked memorable stints early on in both ‘The Wire’ and ‘90210’; of late it’s ‘The Breaks’ and ‘Shots Fired.’ As an artist, he’s getting lots of props for his deft mix of hip-hop and R&B. The Staten Island native’s first album, ‘New York: A Love Story,’ earned a Grammy nom in 2014. The new ‘AfterHours’ takes that further and shows fans how much he’s grown. It works a wise concept of how life is always a little different when the sun sets, as night casts its own unique vibe on life’s dramas. Wilds hit his Vevo interview with enthusiasm. He’s amped to tell the world about writing some of the songs and becoming a storyteller. “There’s a certain allure and magic that comes at nighttime,’ he says, ‘especially New York at night.” See what he says about his track “Explore,” which deals with ditching false bravado and standing tall to your emotions, and “Choose,” about a guy’s feeling after a breakup. All the details are waiting.
