After going through all the full moon rising video clips I shot the other day, I discovered a surprising number of objects crossing the scene in front of the moon. Some are obviously bats, owls or some other night-flying birds. Others are not quite so clear, and could be satellites, aircraft, or who knows what else.... The waver and distortion of the heatwaves in the Earth's atmosphere make positively identifying these objects a bit more difficult, but it's sure fun to try! :-)
All the footage is real, filmed with a Canon 5D Mk2 mounted to a Celestron 900mm telescope, with 2x teleconverter, and edited in Sony Vegas 10. No CGI or animation was added.
