Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, The Queen of Australia, on the recommendation of Her Prime Minister of Australia, has been pleased to approve the appointment of Ms Quentin Bryce as the next Governor-General of Australia.

On 5th September 2008 at Parliament House, Canberra, Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a ceremony at which Ms Bryce was sworn-in as the twenty-fifth Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia by swearing the Oath of Allegiance to Her Majesty the Queen, Her Heirs and successors according to law.

I, QUENTIN ALICE LOUISE BRYCE, do swear that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, Her heirs and successors according to law. SO HELP ME GOD!
