(I apologize for the crudeness of the video. I just wanted to finally get a clip of my extension in action out there, so I just quickly recorded the video, as there were 5 purge-able trends there. I've posted numerous images of it's functionality on Twitter over the last few weeks, but no videos.)
My "Official" description:
As you may have noticed, recently, Twitter has become an annoying playground for fanboys and fangirls of, to be frank, terrible, terrible "artists". Eventually I, and my friends, got so sick of seeing things like the ones in this video multiple times a day, EVERY day that I decided to develop a Chrome extension, for personal use, to rectify and alleviate this tremendous eye-sore. I received major interest in this concept in a very short period of time, so I decided to fully develop it for others to use.
It runs in the background and blocks these kind of trends from appearing. Simple as that. It just works.
As of this date it: • Blocks trends to do with Justin Bieber, One Direction, Lady GaGa, Rebecca Black, Jedward, and The Jonas Brothers, with more upon request • Counters Twitter's AJAX-updating methods • Is customisable - you can enable or disable the filtering of certain topics • Auto-updates when I push a new update • Includes links (in the options page: chrome://settings/extensions) to easily report feedback, bugs, requests, etc directly to me
