Frederik Wilmann is the first Scandinavian to join Skil-Shimano. The 24-year-old arrived in 2009 from Norwegian outfit Joker-Bianchi and attracted attention in multi-stage races. As early as 2007 Frederik finsihed ninth overall in the Tour de l'Avenir and in 2009 he won Mi-août bretonne. He also finished third overall in the Tour de Normandie and the Tour d'Alsace, as well as sixth in the French stage race Paris-Corrèze. Frederik grew up on a bike. In the 1980s his father Jostein was a pro rider who won the Tour de Romandie and the Setmana Catalana de Ciclisme among other races in 1982.
