My latest acquisition - a Rogers Big R kit with memriloc hardware in faux koa finish. Sizes are: 14x22 bass drum, 8x12, 9x13 rack toms, 16x16 floor tom. My snare is a 6.5x14 Ludwig Supraphonic from the same era (I'm debating finding a matching Dynasonic for it - but that's a $$$ question). This is just a short demo solo done with my Zoom Q3HD camera about 5-feet in front of the kit at about eye-level. Shells are thin plies with re-rings and the kit has new heads - coated ambassadors top and bottom, and a coated PS3 and smooth white reso with felt strip on bass drum. The drums sound really good with my slightly high jazz tuning. What's amazing is that for a 40-year-old kit, the metal parts act brand new. There is no metal fatigue and everything works as it would've back in the day. Quite a testament to Rogers hardware quality! The faux koa look is amazing as well! I hope you like the playing! Turn up your sound on your computer as I recorded this with the Zoom set to internal microphones on LOW - it'll probably sound best with headphones.
