On this video, I describe my attempts and successes in disciplining a mechanical pendulum to an external 10MHz reference using the FLL (Frequency-Locked Loop) technique. The control firmware runs on a PIC micro-controller . An LCD display is also used. Short term accuracy of less than 1 ppm can be achieved. Long term accuracy will essentially match the external reference accuracy.
