I respectfully disagree with National Association of the Deaf's decision to publicly support marriage equality for GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bi, Transgender) people and offered to provide luncheon for them during the upcoming NAD convention in Kentucky. The rest of the non-GLBT deaf people were not invited. I have nothing against the GLBT. I just do not agree with their sodomity practices. However NAD needs to realize that they made a huge strategic mistake. It is as bad as saying NAD choose the Democratic party rather than the Republican party. Surely such statement will offend deaf Republicans. This is no different when NAD decided to support GLBT knowing that it would dislocate deaf people with various beliefs including straight people, Christians, Muslims, Islamists, Buddhists, and Native American spirituality, many of which opposes sodomity practices. But yet NAD choose to stick it's thumb into these people's nose. I recalled how NAD made several major shifts through the years. Some time ago NAD adopted the belief that culturally and linguistically big "Deaf" people were superior to deaf people who were not deaf enough. And then they adopted ASL as the superior sign language, oppressing against those who did not sign fluently or didn't know how to sign. And just recently they've adopted the attitude that GLBT were superior and more important than straight people. I know they will deny this but their actions spoke louder than their words. All the more reason for me to continue my 27 years boycott against NAD. They refuse to allow deaf people to vote but yet they claim to represent them. It amounts to false representation. Shameful. GLBT, you can have NAD. I don't think we have any real use for them since they kept shifting away from deaf people at large.
