Dr. David Holloway
Instructor, BCIT Mathematics

Dr. David Holloway is a passionate educator, a tirelessly inquisitive researcher, and a significant contributor to the advancement of learning and understanding. His enthusiasm for scientific thought and exploration have been tremendously beneficial to students and faculty in BCIT's Biotechnology and Computer Systems Technology degree programs.

David's leadership and mentorship abilities are clearly demonstrated by his extensive involvement in promoting BCIT's research activities, proven by his active involvement on the institute's Research Task Group and as chair of the School of Computing and Academic Studies Research Committee. He has successfully secured research grants from the US National Institutes of Health and the Natural Science and Engineering Research Council, which have funded his projects in mathematical biology and allowed him to hire BCIT co-op students to assist with his experiments.

In the 15 years since he has earned his PhD, David has developed an international reputation for his research publications in the area of spatial patterning. David's colleagues commend his work as truly interdisciplinary and his talent for modelling is first rate. His students appreciate David's supportive and energetic approach to learning complex subjects, and his colleagues know he is a strong and willing resource as part of the teaching team.
