Barcodes can be created in InDesign using IDAutomation Barcode fonts along with a free font encoder to format the data. In this video tutorial, an encoder for Microsoft Excel, the Excel Barcode Add In, is used to encode the data. The formatted data is exported as a CSV and then a data merge is performed in Adobe InDesign CS5. Once the encoded data is imported, the barcode font is applied.
