The Pandemic Influenza Preparedness Framework for the sharing of influenza viruses and access to vaccines and other benefits (PIP Framework) was approved in May 2011 by the World Health Assembly. The PIP Framework aims to prepare countries to respond to the next influenza pandemic. It establishes a ‘Partnership Contribution’ through which WHO receives funds that are used to strengthen pandemic preparedness around the world.
