The most popular Dosa of recent times is the STEAMED DOSA, the soft spongy and fluffy dosa which is cooked on a hot griddle and is covered with lid which in turn cooks the dosa in its own steam.This dosa is a variation of the very popular SET DOSA, no wonder cooks have named this dosa after the popular South Indian actor “Chiranjeevi” Serve it with vegetable saagu, kurma and your favorite chutney of your choice.
Ingredients [for 2-3 Persons] : 1.Rice - 100 Grams 2.Parboiled Rice - 50 Grams 3.Pressed Rice - 50 Grams 4.Urad Dal - 2tbsp 5.Puffed Rice - 30 Grams 6.Water 7.Methi 1tsp 8.Salt to taste 9.Baking Soda a Pinch
Method : In a bowl take rice, parboiled rice, pressed rice, urad dal, puffed rice, water, methi seeds and soak for 2-3 hours and grind into a smooth batter and ferment for 6-7 hours Add salt and water as required. On a hot griddle/tawa sprinkle water and wipe, now pour the batter and don't spread, cover with a lid and let it cook in its own steam
Now very very soft n spongy steam dosa is ready, serve with saagu and mango pickle Happy cooking………..
