Part one documents a soldier's first few days in-country from arriving aboard a TWA jet at Bien Hoa Air Base, to processing at the 90th Replacement Battalion Center at Long Binh to his arrival as a replacement at the 199th Light Infantry Brigade base camp. This portion of the video has no narration, but includes actual sounds recorded at the replacement center.
Part two examines the four-phase training program that gave replacements (new soldiers) in Vietnam their baptism of fire before engaging the enemy. It was produced by the Army in the 1960s at 1st Brigade, 101st Airborne Division's base camp at Phan Rang in Ninh Thuan Province, II Corps, South Vietnam.
