DuPage Habitat for Humanity, ComEd and College of DuPage have teamed up to make home ownership a reality for working families while saving money and energy. Architecture and construction students enrolled in an innovative new COD class called Sustainable Design Initiative will work with industry professionals in building eleven new homes in West Chicago. Pioneer Prairie, the charter neighborhood in Habitats green initiative, will provide low income families with affordable, energy efficient housing. The construction phase of the project kicked off with a ground breaking ceremony. Images was on site, along with representatives from DuPage Habitat for Humanity, ComEd and COD, to help launch the community conscious partnership.
