Just as Lesson 18-3 had a pick-up for the catasra jāti, the tisra jāti rhythmic cycles have a pick-up, which serves a transition from madhya lay to drut lay, or maintaining drut lay. The bols are:

The unique thing about the kat is that it's played with all four fingers, as opposed to the three ti fingers.
