Dudley Hogarth as Clancy. Clancy, played to a tee by Dudley Hogath at the Belvoir Theatre production of Fee Fi Fo Fum, by Howard Jackson. Clancy is both a ghost and the living embodiment of, and inspiration for, the Australia bush poets. Hes the bushman, digger slowly vanishing from sight, disappearing as he realises hes been duped into poaching the last two living Paradise Parrots on the planet. You dont need to know the words to Waltzing Matilda or be familiar with the work of Banjo Patterson, Henry Lawson or CJ Dennis to know this character but a little knowledge of the above adds other dimensions.
